During the previous 25 years of Republican majority legislatures, public schools in Missouri have suffered continual budget cuts at the state funding level.  Ron Fauss has prepared to fight for full funding of public schools and an end to the voucher system for subsidizing private schools.  Ron Fauss understands the importance of local schools for rural children and their communities.  Changes in Missouri Educational Outcomes under Republican majorities: Missouri’s educational outcomes have significantly declined over the past thirty years, with recent assessments showing that students are over 60% of a grade level behind 2019 levels in math and reading. In contrast, decades ago, Missouri students generally performed better, with fewer achievement gaps and higher proficiency rates compared to current standards. Missouri has shifted from a state where the ACT was taken primarily by college-bound students to one that briefly required it for all H.S. juniors (which has since changed). In 1994, the average Missouri ACT score was 21.5. By 2024, the average had dipped to 19.8.  Ron Fauss wants to fully fund public education, to restore local school board control and to end school vouchers for the greedy rich.

Ron Fauss believes in an honest day of work for an honest living wage.  Greedy corporations and private equity firms should never receive tax benefits from closing plants, moving jobs out of the U.S. or laying off American workers.  Democrats have traditionally stood for fair labor practices in the workplace.  In 1996, manufacturing was the undisputed king of the Missouri economy, particularly in the automotive and aerospace sectors. Today, while manufacturing remains a top five employer, Health Care and Social Assistance has taken the lead. In 2026: Professional/Technical Services (like bioscience and agtech in St. Louis and Kansas City) have become the state’s growth engines.  Ron Fauss wants to fully fund the Missouri Department of Economic Development to support local manufacturing startups and restore funding to rural hospitals.   Ron Fauss wants to help Missourians to continue fighting for a living wage, to bring job security back to the workplace, to keep striving for employee rights to time off when sick or injured, and to find the best way to insure the health of every citizen.

Missouri statute 140.340 last amended in 2003, slows the attempts of our cities, in selling tax-delinquent properties to local investors seeking to improve properties in our towns. Reforming these statutes could allow Missouri cities the same advantages found in Iowa, where only 20 delinquent-tax properties remain unsold and unproductive statewide in their cities. Ron Fauss wants to reform the Missouri statute to simplify delinquent-tax sales to attract more local investors seeking to improve our communities and put properties back on the tax rolls and affordable homes back on the market.

Ron Fauss knows the importance of holding large companies accountable for polluting wastewater and for airborne emissions.  He is prepared to oversee the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to monitor dangerous, greedy, corporate practices while working with farmers and small cities to adjust to EPA regulations with common sense health and safety solutions.

Ron Fauss knows the importance of providing rural residents with nearby recreational opportunities.  Quality of place and community attractiveness for residents and business expansion can depend on local parks and recreational facilities.  Ron Fauss sees the value of state investment in local trails, parks, waterway improvements and playground equipment.

Under the 2026 federal BBB legislation, Republicans are making healthcare unsustainable. Ron Fauss wants to fully fund the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and restore funding to rural hospitals.
