Fauss Enters the Race for the 51st Missouri House District
May 5, 2026
Higginsville became the first city in Missouri House District 51 to have an informal poll of Democrats about the upcoming primary election. A small sample of Democrats were introduced to the “Fauss for House” campaign during the last week of filing for the office. Each of the polled Democrats expressed delight in learning they will have a clear choice in 2026 for a Representative in Jefferson City.
Ron Fauss is running to become the official Democrat candidate for Representative in the 51st Missouri District. If successful in the August primary, Mr. Fauss will challenge the only Republican candidate to file for the primary race. Mr. Fauss has pledged to refuse campaign contributions from any of the millionaires who seem to have bought influence over the Republican leadership in the state legislature, including the Sinclair Media Group whom the Governor publicly thanked for his winning that office.
Mr. Fauss has owned and operated (since 1988) a small business started by his family in 1976, in the 51st District. He is a proud graduate of Lafayette County C-1 Schools, and a resident of Corder for 34 years. He attends church in Higginsville, Mo. Mr. Fauss opposes the Republican majority and the Governor’s proposal to raise sales taxes in the state, to suspend the Hancock Amendment, and to allow the state legislature to impose new taxes on everyday services. Ron Fauss believes that proposed new sales and service taxes will decrease economic activity in Missouri while putting greater tax burdens on working citizens and allowing wealthy Missourians the greatest income tax break in the history of the state.
